How safe is your household in the hands of your trusted housemaid? This may be a recurring question amongst the employers. No doubt, a housemaid eases your worries about household chores; infant care, elderly care and the all round maintenance of the house but, all the same have you ever thought about the scenario of the house in your absence with only your housemaid taking charge of the household. Will this new comer perform and prove herself up to your expectations? Is your home safe and secure in the hands of this housemaid? Answers to these questions are more often half hearted..! The reason for this half-hearted answers is that every person certainly doesn’t place all his trust on the other person.
Whenever a person who is not related to your family enters in to the house and your family, as a guest or a person whom you might have hired to work for you living in your house, as in case of the living in housemaid, a string of apprehension always lies in the mind, although many time it is found to be baseless. Even at times when these aspects are taken to count as baseless, case of unpleasant instances have to light here and there. Now the question that arises is that whether one can place 100% trust on the housemaid or not? Looking from the employer’s point of perspective, trusting a housemaid is somewhat inevitable. At this juncture, a reference or any sort of guarantee on the past record of the housemaid is preferred. The involvement of a maid recruiting agency not only reduces the load of cumbersome paperwork and other processes but also the agency carries out diligent cross checks and verification of the proposed maids and their past records, so that the recommended maid does not get into any unscrupulous activity and tarnish the name of the agency and the referral as well.
To hire a maid, a cook, a driver, or a similar caregiver at home to help us run our own lives better also has its own negatives as well. In any case, how much ever guarantee a maid agency provides you with regarding the prospective housemaid, it is always better to be careful and keep in mind certain precautionary measures. It should always be remembered that there is no such thing as irrelevance while questioning the agency when it comes to the safety of your home and kids. The agency if genuine and honest will be more than happy to provide you with references and other information of her past employers. If needed contacting those references to know more. Depending solely on the referral feedback also sometimes does not prove to be very wise as some information may also be contrived and made up for personal benefits. In order to ascertain the total safety of the home and the kids and elderly, one has to take a few basic safety precautions. While one cannot find out the entire past history of the helper, and the authenticity sometimes will have to consider the facts that are superficially available and go with it.
Nevertheless, whether a cross check has been done or not, and the genuineness proved or not it is always better to practice safety measures at home while you have a domestic helper, specially a living in maid, in order to ascertain that your home and the members in it are safe and secure and can lead a peaceful life.
